Job Objective:

To maintain and enhance all BSS, Transmission and Outsourced systems in co-ordination with the Managed Services (MS) to provide high availability of access network.

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with MS department to ensure that all faults related to the BSS, MW, OFC and associated links are monitored rigorously, handled immediately and rectified in the shortest possible time.
• Supervision of Quality analysis at various BSS/Transmission interfaces & preventive maintenance in liaison with different engineering sections & NOC to ensure minimum downtime.
• Monitor MS KPIs, their effectiveness and application. Random site and MW link audits.
• Analyze and Generate special reports (e.g. weekly/monthly Network availability / performance, busy hour traffic, and activity reports etc.) related to the Fd Operations for the High Management.
• Database management for various network nodes related to BSS/Transmission for speedy resolutions.
• Maintain the equipment spares inventory related to transmission equipment. Also ensure that a stock of critical spares is maintained at strategic locations.
• Active involvement in Project phases and to assist management in technical evaluation and planning of the BSS projects; such as RFP preparation, contract evaluation, introduction of new services, and manage their testing and implementation while co-coordinating externally with equipment/service vendors and other operators/organizations and internally with other Engineering sections.
• Develop own technical competence of the related platforms through self study and completing special tasks assigned by the line management. Also impart knowledge to colleagues through presentations/discussions organized from time to time.
• Keep abreast of the O&M procedures covering BSS/Transmission platforms and suggest ways for their improvement to the line management. Also guide and assist other team members in performing their tasks to enhance the overall team performance. Providing feedback for SOPs to line management.
