Job Description
Job Purpose:
To deliver design for an efficient Access Transmission Network for GSM sites under different rollout Projects of the Company
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver MW Transmission network design for GSM sites planned in Center region.
- Meet with counterparts in BSS/RF/Optimization to sort out and resolve inter-related requirements and issues, if any.
- Sort out cost-effective alternative backhaul solutions(LL/VSAT) where MW would be expensive/not-feasible.
- MW frequency planning for the Access network ensuring no interference among the MW routes in accordance with the formulated KPIs.
- Interact with RAN Projects as well as BSS Civil Projects to give them Access Network related requirements in terms of network topologies (hub/chain/leaf), tower loading,transmission repeaters that would need to be met or made available in accordance with the rollout priorities/timelines.
- Meet with vendors to sort out Access Transmission related issues in association with RAN Projects.
- Mange to carry out regional sites TSS/LOS surveys in sync with rollout activities, generally in-house
- Manage 3rd Party vendors regardingtransmission surveys in security-prone areas.
- Deliver final Access Network Transmisison design to RAN Projects for implementation keeping pace with rollout activities
- Prepare and deliver MW links clearance documents in line with prescribed formats of PTA/FAB, finaltransmission design and rollout timelines
- Carry out optimization in the operational/planned Access Network avoiding unnecessary network resources being engaged inefficiently and help reduce operational costs; propose innovative and opex efficient backhaul solutions to reduce transmission network related recurring costs as much as practicable
- Design review and improvement of reportedly troubled MW links
- Maintain centralized Access Transmission network equipment inventories for Managements appraisal and reconciliation of BOQs with Projects/vendors
Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio, Software Transmission planning tools (Map Info, TLP, etc),
Good presentational skills
Team management
Ability to work under pressure
